Welcome back to all Open Campus students, staff and parents!

I am new to blogging so I hope that you will all bear with me as I stumble through the process. It is my hope to provide you with resources for guiding students towards achieving success in the classroom and on the Virginia Standards of Learning Tests, (lovingly known as the SOLs.)

The site will be continual ”under construction,” in order to keep you up-dated on testing. I hope that you will make use of the links that are posted for your use in preparing yourself or your student to take the next round of SOL tests.

Parents, as you are aware the Open Campus class schedule is quite different from that of the traditional high schools in Virginia Beach and therefore our testing schedule is also different. Please visit the calendar page for the schedule of up-coming tests.

If you would like more information on the state of Virginia’s Standards of Achievement and Standards of Learning, please visit the state department of education’s website. You can access the site by clicking on the link below:

http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/sol.html

I hope that you find the information in this blog to be helpful and informative.
